💡 Today's US market in three lines
① Today's three stocks: Accenture · Box · CareDx — an AI services firm, a cloud software company, and a transplant diagnostics maker that rose with Monday's tech bounce.
② On October 19, the S&P 500 rose +0.41% to 7,690.73 and the Dow slipped -0.07% to 51,966.03. 55 of the 129 ETFs in our universe closed higher, and 8 of the 11 sector SPDRs fell.
③ The humanoid robot fund rose +3.78%, while the utilities sector SPDR lost -2.01%.
Today's Sector Relative Strength (RS)

- Tech bounced. Utilities and energy slipped. Money went back into the stocks that were sold hardest last week, and out of the groups that had held up.
- The S&P 500 closed at 7,690.73, up +0.41% or 31.29 points. The Nasdaq gained +1.11%, or 290.86 points, to 26,430.89. The Dow lost -0.07%, or 36.38 points, to 51,966.03. The bounce recovered only part of last week's drop. Over five sessions, the Nasdaq is still down -2.99% and the S&P 500 -1.49%. Growth led. The Russell 1000 Growth fund (IWF) rose +0.93%, while the Russell 1000 Value fund (IWD) slipped -0.13%. The equal-weight S&P 500 fund (RSP) fell -0.32%, so the gains were concentrated in the biggest names. The Russell 2000 fund (IWM) added +0.31%.
- Breadth stayed narrow. Only 55 of the 129 funds in our universe closed higher, and 74 fell. Just three of the 11 sector SPDRs rose: consumer discretionary (+1.78%), technology (+1.36%), and materials (+0.06%). Utilities fell the most at -2.01%, followed by financials (-0.83%) and energy (-0.64%).
- The AI debt scare eased. Reports said Goldman Sachs upgraded CoreWeave to buy, and the data center operator's bonds firmed after last week's selloff, though the stock itself slipped -0.44%. Memory chips led the rebound. Sandisk rose +5.53%, Western Digital +6.09%, and Micron +2.97%. The VIX fell -7.75% to 18.44. The 10-year Treasury yield rose to 5.14% from 5.10%. Oil fell after reports that the US suspended some sanctions on Russia. Brent crude slipped -0.59% to $109.21 a barrel, and WTI front-month futures fell -3.13% to $98.24. Natural gas futures lost -2.47%. Gold fell -0.50% to $4,160.30, and Bitcoin was flat at near $81,947.
Today's Leading Sectors TOP 5
- Basis: top 5 by 1-month RS rank on the 'Sector RS (US)' sheet — 129-ETF universe, October 19, 2026. Daily moves are measured from Yahoo closing prices. Trend columns compare price to its 1-month, 1-quarter, and 1-year moving averages.
| ETF | 1-Day | RS Rank 1M | Short-Term | Mid-Term | Long-Term |
| iShares U.S. Oil & Gas E&P (IEO) | -0.73% | 99 | 🔺 | 🔺 | 🔺 |
| Energy Select Sector SPDR (XLE) | -0.64% | 99 | 🔺 | 🔺 | 🔺 |
| Health Care Select Sector SPDR (XLV) | -0.60% | 98 | 🔺 | 🔺 | 🔺 |
| United States Copper Index Fund (CPER) | +0.18% | 96 | 🔽 | 🔽 | 🔺 |
| iShares U.S. Medical Devices (IHI) | +0.04% | 96 | 🔺 | 🔺 | 🔽 |
- The top of the ranking changed. The cybersecurity funds that led for weeks dropped out after last week's software selloff. BUG now ranks 81. Energy and health care moved up to take their place. IEO, XLE, and XLV all trade above their 1-month, 1-quarter, and 1-year averages, and all three slipped on Monday as money rotated back into tech. The Roundhill Magnificent Seven fund (MAGS) sits just behind at 95.
Why They're Strong — Sector Issues

· Oil producers and energy (IEO · XLE) — Producers gave back a little as crude fell. ConocoPhillips lost -0.87%, Exxon Mobil -0.39%, and Chevron -0.28%. The move was small next to the run that got them here. IEO is up +7.33% over one month, the best monthly gain in our universe, and +3.13% over five sessions. Crude near $100 a barrel keeps the rank high even on a down day.

· Health care and medical devices (XLV · IHI) — Health care paused. Eli Lilly fell -1.33% and Amgen -1.75%, while UnitedHealth rose +1.36% and Intuitive Surgical +1.52%. XLV is up +4.31% over one month and +2.13% over five sessions. It has climbed the ranking because it held steady while tech fell. IHI was flat on the day and still sits below its 1-year average.
1-Month RS Trend

- The 45-day chart tracks humanoid robots, future AI, cloud computing, utilities, and natural gas. The Roundhill humanoid robotics fund (HUMN) stood at 37 on October 13 and fell to 12 on this price-based line, while the sheet ranks it 29. The iShares future AI fund (ARTY) was at 92 on October 13 and dropped to 32 in four sessions. The sheet has it at 56. The WisdomTree cloud fund (WCLD) is the exception among the tech names and sits at 97 on this line, against 89 on the sheet. The utilities sector SPDR (XLU) climbed from 2 on August 21 to 83 on Friday and slipped to 74 on Monday. The sheet ranks it 63. The natural gas fund (UNG) reached 100 on October 14 and has slipped to 73. The sheet has it at 80.
RS Breakdown Warnings (big 5-day drops)
· The meme stock theme fund (MEME) fell -66 points in five sessions, from 71 to 5. The SonicShares global shipping fund (BOAT) lost -36 points, from 91 to 55. Both bounced on Monday, and MEME rose +2.38%, but the 5-day damage is done.
· The chip funds show the same drop on the price-based line. The iShares semiconductor fund (SOXX) fell -47 points, from 85 to 38, while the sheet still ranks it 75. The gap means the sheet has not caught up yet.
RS Rebound Signals (sharp bounces off the bottom)
· The iShares oil equipment and services fund (IEZ) rebounded +37 points in five sessions, from 9 to 46. The VanEck oil services fund (OIH) gained +34 points, from 18 to 52. Halliburton reports on Tuesday and SLB on Friday, so the group has a test this week.
· The iShares aerospace and defense fund (ITA) gained +27 points, Select STOXX European defense (EUAD) +26, and VanEck steel (SLX) +22. EUAD fell -2.07% on Monday after reports of possible easing in the Ukraine conflict, so its rebound is already under pressure.
Today's Top Rising Sectors TOP 5 (by 1-day %)
- Basis: top 5 by October 19 closing move — 55 of 129 rose on the day. RS ranks from the 'Sector RS (US)' sheet.

| iShares Future AI & Tech (ARTY) | +2.00% | 56 | 🔽 | 🔽 | 🔺 |
- Three of the five rank in the bottom half of the sheet. This was a bounce in beaten-down groups, not a change of leaders. WCLD is the only one above all three moving averages. HUMN is still down -9.79% over one month, and ARTY is down -8.33% over five sessions even after Monday's gain.
Why They Rose — Sector Issues

· Humanoid robots and biotech (HUMN · XBI) — Tesla rose +3.76% after Elon Musk wrote on X that Optimus and Cybercab would make up most of Tesla's future value, two days before the company reports. Korean holdings helped too. Rainbow Robotics rose +7.23% and Hyundai Motor +4.49% in Seoul. Biotech had deal news. Silence Therapeutics jumped +125.58% after Merck KGaA agreed to buy it for $20 per ADS in cash, a 130% premium to Friday's close. Disc Medicine rose +38.86% after its Phase 3 trial of bitopertin met all primary and secondary endpoints. Moderna added +4.07%.

· Cloud, AI, and meme stocks (WCLD · ARTY · MEME) — Software bought back what it sold on Friday. Datadog rose +5.36%, Palantir +4.36%, Snowflake +2.77%, and ServiceNow +2.39%. Reports tied the Palantir move to a federal cloud partnership with Knox Systems. Chips followed. Marvell gained +4.06%, Nvidia +1.38%, and AMD +1.76%. WCLD is up +5.27% over one month and stayed above its 1-month average through last week's selloff. The meme stock fund rose with the risk appetite. We found no single company headline behind its move.
Leading Sectors: Oil Producers, Health Care, Cloud Software
- ① Oil producers kept the top rank even on a down day. IEO ranks 99 and slipped only -0.73% while crude fell. The 1-month return of +7.33% is far ahead of the rest of the universe. One day of lower oil does not undo that.
- ② Health care moved into the leaders by standing still. XLV ranks 98 and is up +4.31% over one month. UnitedHealth is up +7.49% over five sessions. Defensive groups like this one rise in the ranking when tech falls, and they will drift back down if the bounce holds.
- ③ Cloud software is the one tech group that kept its rank. WCLD ranks 89 and rose +2.07% on Monday. The chip funds did not keep up. SOXX ranks 75 and is down -7.88% over five sessions, and SMHX ranks 91 but is down -7.66%. Utilities lost their bid. NRG Energy fell -4.21%, Eversource -3.55%, and Constellation Energy -3.01%. We found no single headline for the utilities drop. The 10-year yield rose to 5.14%, which weighs on dividend stocks.
- ④ The last report covered the October 16 close. Its three picks, measured from that close to Monday's: Antero Resources +0.47%, ConocoPhillips -0.87%, and Ovintiv +1.02%. The S&P 500 rose +0.41% over the same session. Two of three beat the index. All three held their checkpoints. Antero closed at $38.83 against $37.54, ConocoPhillips at $145.24 against $142.34, and Ovintiv at $70.04 against $66.97. Recorded as is.
Today's Three Stocks — Accenture · Box · CareDx Stock Forecast
Accenture (ACN) — 1-Month RS 99: AI Services, Still Far From the High

| RS 1D | RS 5D | RS 1M | 1M Return | Held By |
| 93 | 99 | 99 | +30.7% | First Trust Cybersecurity · iShares Future AI & Tech |
- Up +3.16% to $236.93, and +10.27% over five sessions. The stock is still about 18% below its one-year closing high of $288.54 from January 14. Accenture is one of the largest IT consulting firms, and its AI services business is the reason investors came back. Reports said the stock jumped +15.8% on October 1, the day it reported fiscal fourth-quarter results, and the company guided fiscal 2027 revenue growth of 3% to 6% in local currency. For the quarter ended August 31, revenue rose +6.2% to $18.68 billion from $17.60 billion. Operating income rose +39.7% to $2.86 billion from $2.05 billion, and net income rose to $1.99 billion from $1.41 billion. Diluted earnings per share were $3.29, up from $2.25. The Accenture stock forecast depends on whether the AI consulting demand holds up as clients cut other software spending.
Box (BOX) — 1-Month RS 98: A New All-Time High

| RS 1D | RS 5D | RS 1M | 1M Return | Held By |
| 90 | 99 | 98 | +20.0% | Global X Cloud Computing |
- Up +2.28% to $40.46, and +10.22% over five sessions. Monday's close is a new all-time high. Box sells cloud content management software to businesses, and it has been adding AI tools to that platform. Reports said Bank of America named it a top pick on October 14. The company holds a virtual investor product briefing on November 5. For the quarter ended July 31, revenue rose +9.2% to $321.1 million from $294.0 million. Operating income rose +58.6% to $32.6 million from $20.6 million, and net income rose to $19.2 million from $13.4 million. Diluted earnings per share were $0.09, up from $0.05. The Box stock forecast depends on whether a 9% revenue grower can keep a stock price that has already risen +20% in a month.
CareDx (CDNA) — 1-Month RS 99: Transplant Tests, Results on October 29

| RS 1D | RS 5D | RS 1M | 1M Return | Held By |
| 97 | 93 | 99 | +24.6% | Global X Genomics & Biotechnology |
- Up +4.81% to $67.08, and +6.27% over five sessions. The stock is about 4% below its one-year closing high of $69.85 from October 5. CareDx makes blood tests that detect organ rejection in transplant patients. For the quarter ended June 30, revenue rose +52.2% to $131.9 million from $86.7 million. Net income was $110.6 million against a loss of $8.6 million a year earlier, but that figure includes a $113 million gain on the sale of its Lab Products business, which closed on June 30. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $25 million from $5 million, and the company raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $490 million to $500 million. Third-quarter results come on October 29. The CareDx stock forecast depends on whether that report shows the core testing business growing without the one-time gain.
Accenture · Box · CareDx Stock Forecast Checkpoints
· Accenture stock forecast — The stock has risen four sessions in a row. Watch whether it holds above $229.68, the October 16 close. Falling back below it would mark Monday's gain as part of the bounce, not a new leg.
· Box stock forecast — The stock just set an all-time high. Watch whether it holds above $39.56, the October 16 close. A drop below it would leave the high as a one-day spike.
· CareDx stock forecast — The stock is close to its high. Watch whether it clears $69.85, the October 5 closing high, before the October 29 report. A close above it would confirm the move ahead of earnings.
What to Watch on Next Week's Calendar
- September housing starts and pending home sales, Tuesday, October 20, 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. ET. Netflix reports after the close at 4:00 p.m. ET the same day.
- NextEra Energy results, Wednesday, October 21, 8:00 a.m. ET, before the open. Utilities were Monday's weakest sector, and NextEra fell -2.04%. The Nvidia GTC Berlin keynote starts at 5:00 a.m. ET the same morning, and the chip funds are still down more than -7% over five sessions.
- Meta and Tesla results, Wednesday, October 21, 4:00 p.m. ET, after the close. Lam Research, Texas Instruments, and IBM report at the same time. Tesla's Optimus comments drove the humanoid fund's +3.78% gain on Monday, and the report will show whether there are numbers behind them. Meta's spending plans will test whether the AI build-out is still growing.
