Today's Sector Relative Strength (RS)

- Security software ran. Telecom broke. Almost everything else rose quietly.
- The S&P 500 closed at 7,811.54, up +0.59% or 46.18 points. That left it just 7.39 points below its record close of 7,818.93 from October 6. The Nasdaq rose +0.64%, or 172.83 points, to 27,366.17. The Dow gained +0.83%, or 423.31 points, to 51,654.95. All three finished the week higher, and the S&P 500 added +1.15% from the October 2 close. The gains were even. The equal-weight S&P 500 fund (RSP) rose +0.55% and the Russell 2000 fund (IWM) +0.49%. Growth and value moved together this time: the Russell 1000 Growth fund (IWF) gained +0.63% and the Russell 1000 Value fund (IWD) +0.61%.
- Breadth was strong. 105 of the 129 funds in our universe closed higher and 24 closed lower. Nine of the 11 sector SPDRs rose. - One deal hit a whole industry. SpaceX agreed to buy a nationwide block of 800 MHz wireless spectrum from Grain Management, which bought it from T-Mobile only in August. The deal still needs FCC approval. Investors read it as a fourth national carrier in the making, and the three big carriers had their worst days in years. Why They Rose — Sector Issues

· Genomics and biotech (GNOM · XBI · IBB) — Moderna jumped +14.21% to a one-year closing high after a New York Times report on a national cancer-vaccine effort. The copper fund (CPER) rose +2.15%, and the gold miners fund (GDX) +2.95% as gold climbed. We found no single headline behind the move. COPX is still down -3.23% over one month. Digital infrastructure (IDGT) also made the list as American Tower jumped +9.30% and Ciena added +5.6%.
Leading Sectors: Cybersecurity, Software, Genomics
- ① Security software took the lead. Zscaler's reaffirmed outlook lifted the whole group, and Okta, Cloudflare, and Fortinet closed at one-year highs. Companies treat security as a cost they cannot cut, so the group held up during Thursday's AI scare and rose on Friday.
- ② Software bounced while chips rested. Snowflake, Datadog, and Palantir closed at one-year highs, and the iShares software fund rose +2.81%. Chips fell for a second day. Over the past week, investors moved from AI hardware toward the software that runs on it.
- ③ Telecom took a direct hit. Verizon fell -10.14%, AT&T -10.82%, and T-Mobile -13.27% on the SpaceX spectrum deal. The communication services SPDR fell -1.51%. Refiners gave back part of Thursday's jump: PBF Energy lost -5.67% and Valero -2.26%.
- ④ The last report covered the October 8 close. Its three picks, measured from that close to Friday's: Phillips 66 -1.21%, International Seaways -1.64%, and Zscaler +7.80%. The S&P 500 rose +0.59% over the same session. Only Zscaler beat the index. The two oil picks fell as refiners and tankers cooled. Recorded as is.

- Up +6.61% to $41.59, and +12.86% over five sessions. The one-year closing high is $42.65 from July 14. Tenable sells software that scans a company's systems for weak points and ranks which ones to fix first. Operating income was $12.4 million, against an operating loss of $7.4 million a year earlier. Net income was $3.8 million. Growth is slower than at most of its peers. The Tenable stock forecast depends on whether its AI security tools can lift that growth rate.
Netskope (NTSK) — 1-Month RS 99: A Young Listing Climbing Back

| RS 1D | RS 5D | RS 1M | 1M Return | Held By |
| 97 | 99 | 99 | +37.5% | iShares Cybersecurity and Tech · Global X Cybersecurity · WisdomTree Cloud Computing |
- Up +5.84% to $20.75, and +16.93% over five sessions. The stock is still below its one-year closing high of $24.26 from November 2025, shortly after it went public. Netskope sells cloud security that checks traffic between users, apps, and the web. An analyst upgrade on October 6 added to the run. For the quarter ended July 31, revenue rose +29.2% to $220.5 million from $170.8 million. The company still loses money. Its operating loss widened to $89.8 million from $46.0 million, and its net loss was $110.8 million. The Netskope stock forecast rests on whether fast revenue growth starts to narrow those losses.
Shopify (SHOP) — 1-Month RS 98: E-Commerce Near Its High

| RS 1D | RS 5D | RS 1M | 1M Return | Held By |
| 92 | 98 | 98 | +35.0% | Global X E-commerce · Global X Cloud Computing · WisdomTree Cloud Computing |
- Up +3.82% to $170.85, and +12.85% over five sessions. The one-year closing high is $179.01 from October 29, 2025. Shopify runs the software that millions of merchants use to sell online and in stores. We found no company news on Friday. The stock rose with the software rebound and the e-commerce funds. For the quarter ended June 30, revenue rose +33.7% to $3.58 billion from $2.68 billion. Operating income climbed +67.7% to $488 million from $291 million. The Shopify stock forecast depends on whether holiday-season sales keep revenue growing above +30%.
Tenable · Netskope · Shopify Stock Forecast Checkpoints
· Tenable stock forecast — The stock sits about 2.5% below its July high. Watch whether it closes above $42.65, the one-year closing high. A close above it would mark a breakout.
· Netskope stock forecast — The stock is up +37.5% in one month. Watch whether it holds above $19.61, Thursday's close. A drop below it would erase Friday's gain.
· Shopify stock forecast — The stock is about 4.6% below its one-year high. Watch whether it reaches $179.01, last October's closing high. Stalling below it would show the rebound running out of buyers.
What to Watch on Next Week's Calendar
- Bank earnings kick off, Tuesday October 13 (8:00 p.m. KST). JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs report before the US open. Regional banks fell -0.83% on Friday and are down -6.50% over one month. Their loan outlook will show how much high rates are hurting borrowers.
- September CPI, Wednesday October 14 (9:30 p.m. KST). Oil has stayed above $90 a barrel. A hot reading would push yields back toward this week's 24-year high and pressure growth stocks like Netskope and Shopify.
- ASML and TSMC third-quarter results, Wednesday October 14 (2:00 p.m. KST) and Thursday October 15 (3:00 p.m. KST). Chip funds fell -5.01% over five sessions. Their orders and guidance will show whether AI hardware spending is still growing.
- September retail sales and PPI, Thursday October 15 (9:30 p.m. KST). Consumer sentiment just hit its lowest since May. Weak spending would test the e-commerce rebound behind Shopify.
