Biggest 1-Day RS Rank Losses — Yesterday vs Today

  • Oil refiners (CRAK) fell from 65 to 42, and almost all of it was Tuesday's -3.73% price move. Monday's report said chips needed to get back above their 1-month average. SOXX rose again but is still below it. That call stays open.

1-Month RS Trend

45-Day RS Trend — 5 Sectors

Why They Rose

  • All five rising funds rank 30 or lower, and all five sit below their 1-month, 1-quarter, and 1-year averages. This was a bounce in the market's weakest corners. On the other side, oil refiners (CRAK) -3.73%, oil and gas exploration (IEO) -3.53%, oil and gas explorers (XOP) -2.37%, and residential REITs (REZ) -2.32% led the decliners.

Leading Sectors: Metals and Mining, Uranium, Semiconductors

  • ① Metals and mining ranks 30 and is down -4.67% over one month. One strong day does not lift it back above its 1-month average yet.
  • ② Uranium ranks 9. Cameco reports on Friday, which is the first company test for this bounce.
  • ③ Semiconductors rank 26 after two up days. Intel reports on Thursday, and SOXX still needs to clear its 1-month average.
  • ④ The last report covered the October 26 close. Its three picks from that close to Tuesday's: Lockheed Martin -1.92%, Tenable +0.91%, and Booz Allen Hamilton +0.05%, against +0.60% for the S&P 500. One of the three beat the market. Recorded as is.
