Privacy Policy
What Global Stock Brief and the services it uses collect when you visit, including AdSense cookies, Google Analytics and Amplitude, and how to opt out.
Who we are
Global Stock Brief (https://global-stock-brief.com) is an independent website about US stocks, run by one independent analyst who writes as J. Equity. Research. In this policy, “we” and “the site” refer to that operator. Privacy questions and requests: [email protected].
What we collect ourselves
The site has no user accounts, no comment section, no newsletter sign-up and no forms. You do not need to give us your name, email address or any other personal information to read it.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to handle your request.
Hosting
The site is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. How Cloudflare handles this data is described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Advertising and cookies
The site displays advertisements from Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, lets Google and its partners show ads based on your visits to this site and to other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove ads; the ads you see are simply less tailored to you. To learn how Google handles data from sites that use its services, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Analytics
We use two analytics services to see which articles are read and how readers use the site. We look at their reports to decide what to cover and to fix problems with the site.
Google Analytics. Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link), your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and the time of your visit. It sets cookies to recognize returning visitors. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data on every website you visit with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Amplitude. Amplitude records the pages you view, your visit sessions, how you arrived, and your clicks on page elements such as links and buttons, together with your browser, device and approximate location. It stores a random identifier in a cookie or in your browser’s local storage so that repeat visits can be counted. The data is processed in the United States. See Amplitude’s privacy notice.
Cookies and how to control them
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device; some services use your browser’s local storage the same way. On this site they come from Google (advertising and Google Analytics) and from Amplitude. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings, and each major browser explains how in its help pages. Tracking protection and content blockers also stop most of these scripts. The site still works when they are blocked, and ads still appear, only less tailored to you.
Links to other websites
Articles link to outside sites such as the SEC (sec.gov), company investor-relations pages and Yahoo Finance. Those sites set their own cookies and follow their own privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their practices. Read their policies when you leave this site.
Data retention
Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle them. Request logs, analytics data and advertising cookies held by Cloudflare, Google and Amplitude are kept under those companies’ own retention rules and the settings of our accounts with them. To ask what personal information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write to [email protected].
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, tell us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date below shows the latest revision. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
